Eucharistic Adoration

Every Wednesday and Friday

  • Wednesdays from 7:30 am to 6:45 pm
  • Fridays from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm  (after Mass)

At Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Jesus can be adored in the Most Holy Eucharist every Friday evening and all day Wednesday in the Church.  (Exception:  During the Lenten Season we don’t have the Holy Eucharistic Adoration on Fridays since we have the Stations of the Cross.)

For 2000 years, Catholics have believed Jesus to be truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist, just as he taught his disciples in John 6. We believe that at each celebration of eucharistthe Mass, bread, and wine are truly transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore, Jesus comes to be present with us not only spiritually, but physically. In the Eucharist, Jesus is just as present with us in bread and wine as he was 2000 years ago when He walked the earth.

Therefore, if Jesus is truly present (body, blood, soul, & divinity) in the Most Holy Eucharist, then we can gaze upon Jesus and worship him in his physical presence. Therefore, we are blessed with the awesome opportunity to worship Jesus through Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or most Holy Eucharist. In Eucharistic Adoration, the Eucharistic Host (the Body of Jesus) is placed in a gold monstrance to be adored. This is a beautiful and awesome opportunity for prayer. Come and see!

Eucharistic Adoration takes place all over the world every day. Catholics have been worshiping Jesus truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist for 2000 years.

In December 2019, we created an Adoration Society.  We ask parishioners to consider spending time with Jesus present in the Eucharist on Wednesdays. Each member of the Society strives to make a Holy Hour in the Church weekly on Wednesdays when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed on the altar.  The pastor designates the moderator of the Society to keep the roll of members and maintain the schedule or adorers.

Retirees, homeschoolers, part-time employees, and telecommuters are among those who we hope will contribute their time and devotion.
